An Intellectual and His Dream Job

November 24th, 2011 posted by admin

Generally speaking, I am one of those people who would moan for ages should there be something they really want to do that is not happening and I am absolutely lost in the current employment environment. I am looking for the job I would really love to do - and this is just what people always tell me- look for something you would really love to do. Well, I have found that ’something'long time back but somehow I do not see it happening for me for some reason. So what should be the general conclusion - it is not worth following your aspirations but answering to your necessities - you need a job to earn money and, as it happens nowadays, this might be the worst job you have ever wanted to do.

I would give you an example first. I had a friend who was more than motivated to work within banking - a person knowledgeable enough to call himself a better potential banker than all the kids who go to Oxford and Cambridge. And when he actually started working towards getting his dream job secured BAM - he gets nothing in return. All the job interviews, all the applications, all the recommendations, all the professional advice went to waste - there is no such thing as securing the dream job. He, however, managed to get a job in a finance company after all - he does nothing related to banking activities but gets good amount of money every month. So what would a reasonable man conclude - all this career advice services in Universities are just designed so that people get to have office jobs - they contribute nothing to your professional development.

Many of the people recently interviewed by broadcasting and media agencies also confirmed that they have not even get close to their dream jobs. Many keep looking but… pointlessly. So even if you are the alpha male of your generation - do not aim too high and do not listen tot he words of incompetent people who only sit behind desks. The dream job never comes as we expect it - it comes under the form of money into our bank accounts so just accept the general truth - we ain’t getting no perfect jobs after all!
